Why I Worry So Much About Nature (and Why We Should All Start from Ourselves)

Why I Worry So Much About Nature (and Why We Should All Start from Ourselves)

I have always felt a deep connection to the world around me. Nature gives us everything we want like food, shelter, water and many more. Every creature have needed to survive and thrive was provided by the natural world around us. Passion for environment led me to study forestry, where I learned the importance of nature to us and vise versa.

It hurts me more when people don't understand importance of nature and keeps doing creepy behaviors. We read about the importance of nature in textbooks, we hear about it in every national and international discussions, but when it comes to action, there seems to be a gap. Everyday, I see people throwing plastic bottles or snacks packets out of bus windows, without a second thought. It hurts me more seeing people less responsible towards mother earth. It hurts me because it feels like how disconnected we are from the earth on which we rely on.

It's easy to be frustrated, but I have realized something important and that is change must start from within. It's easy to point fingers or blame others, but real transformation begins when we take responsibility of our own actions. If each of us makes small, conscious, and wise decisions we can contribute to a greater impact. It is like how each drop of water combine together to form ocean. No single drop is significant on it's own, but without them, the ocean would not exist. Similarly, if we all do our part of responsibility, even in small ways, we can create a wave of change.

Let's take a example from our daily life, If  I carry a reusable bottle, and  avoid plastic as much as I can, and remind others to do the same similarly if I see trash on the ground, I pick it up, not because I  m responsible for it, but because I am responsible for this planet. This shows how one small action of an individual can have positive impact for nature.

I know it's not always easy. People are often in rush as they are busy in their daily life, throwing a single wrapper on the ground doesn't seems like a big deal. But when same activity is done by thousands of people it cause severe harm to our mother nature. Those thrown litters clogs our rivers, chokes our wildlife, and makes the world degrade and less suitable for next generation.

So, its my appeal, the next time you see a piece of trash lying around, instead of walking crossing it, stop and pick it up. It may seems like just a tiny gesture, but remember; even a single drop counts in making ocean. Lets not wait others to act first and let's start it from ourselves.

Our actions today, shapes the world tomorrow. Lets teach our youngers and next generation these things as tradition and cultures. Lets cultivate these habits on them and on us as well.
